About us

Protea Stables is runned by powercouple Paige Jacobs (°1994) and Robin Van Thillo (°1992).

Paige started riding on an early age and guided by her mother, of whom she inherited her passion for horses, she was able to realise her dream for the big sport.

Soon birthland South-Africa became to small and greater opportunities were offered over in Europe. She started working for bronze Olympic medalist Kartsten Huck where she worked her way up from groom to main rider in 3 years time! From riding young stallions of the Holsteiner Verband to jumping up to 3* level, Paige has done it all.

Robin started his career in the local ponyclub and after finishing school he went to the ridingschool in Deurne (NL). In his first year there he worked as a trainee for Stal Van Hoof who is specialized in preparing stallions for the approvals. 

In his second year he was an intern at Stal Ceulemans (BE) were he becamed skilled in riding young, green horses. After finishing school he started working for Hengstenhouderij Jespers (NL) for one year before moving to JV-Horses (BE).

At JV-Horses Robin gained a lot of show experience from riding the stallion competion up to International shows.

In 2021 Paige and Robin bundled their experience and knowledge into Protea Stables.
